WHY IGNITE?

Ignite Performing Arts Academy operates as a hybrid combination school model. Core academic instruction—including mathematics, science, social studies/history, and English Language Arts—is delivered online and facilitated by highly qualified educators. Arts education, with a focus on the performing arts, is provided through in-person instruction at designated locations throughout the Tampa Bay area and surrounding communities.

Ignite Performing Arts Academy is committed to empowering underserved youth by delivering a rigorous academic and performing arts education that nurtures creativity, strengthens confidence, and equips students for college and beyond.

Starting in the 2026–2027 school year, Ignite Performing Arts Academy will provide academic and performing arts instruction to serve students across the state of Florida.

Gwendolyn Hodge, MBA, MEd.

Gwendolyn Hodge, MBA, MEd., is the founder and proud principal of Ignite Performing Arts Academy. She is a highly accomplished school administrator, educator, United States Air Force veteran, mother, and trusted community leader. With more than 27 years of dedicated service to middle school students and families across Florida, she has made a lasting impact in diverse educational settings. Her experience spans magnet and traditional schools, as well as public, alternative, and virtual learning environments.
